OCC // HOT Deals!!

On Sunday I posted some advertized sales and coupon match-ups for items appropriate to pack in an Operation Christmas Child shoe box. But today, I found even better deals to share with you!

I had noticed on one of my favorite couponing sites that WalMart had a bunch of freebie deals going this week. So I decided to give it a try. Here is what I bought for only $8.20!!

Obviously not all these things are Operation Christmas Child items. We needed the trash bags, the sunscreen was on clearance (plus I had a coupon) and the Old Spice body wash will be donated to another cause. The rest of the items I can divide up between an OCC shoe box (or two?) and donating to either a local charity or the Free Box sitting in our church lobby (I’ll explain that in another post).

Here is how YOU can score similar deals at WalMart this week:

(Note: Please keep in mind when viewing these deals that sales and coupons vary my location, which means you may not find the same deals I do.)

Rayovac Flashlight $1 (found in camping section)
-$1 off coupon from Facebook (Print Here)
Final Cost: FREE

Old Spice Deoderant or Body Wash 1.7oz travel size 97¢
-$1 off Old Spice product 1.7oz+ from PG 10/02
Final Cost: FREE

Ivory Bar Soap 3 ct  97¢ (at my WalMart it was $1.24 – I felt it was worth it for a 3pk)
-35¢ off Zest, Ivory, or Safeguard body wash, bar soap PG 10/02
Final Cost: 62¢ or 89¢

Reach Dental Floss 88¢ (97¢ for me)
-$1 off Reach toothbrush or floss SS 4/17
OR -$2.50 off 2 Reach toothbrush, floss or Listerine SS 4/17 (I used this one)
Final Cost: Free OR Free+profit!*

**Crest Scope Outlast trial size 97¢
-$2 off Crest Scope Outlast toothpaste SS 9/11
Final Cost: Free+profit!

*You make a "profit" when your coupon value is higher than the product price. In this case, the amount of the coupon will be applied to the rest of your purchase. Some stores, such as WalMart, allow this in their coupon policy because the manufacturer that issued the coupon will reimburse the store the value of the coupon. The stores do not lose out on these deals.

**I bought one of these to get a profit but also found a full-sized toothpaste WITH mini-Scope, Glide Floss sample and coupons for only $2.47. It was on an endcap of an aisle…always check those for hidden deals!

After all that, I only ended up paying for the trash bags! So far I’ve been able to pack my shoe box for FREE!

How about you? Are you packing a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child? I’d love to hear about it and any deals you find! J

At my WalMart I found a section (near the scrapbooking & party supplies) where everything is priced 97 cents. (Like the Dollar Spot at Target) There were lots of cute items perfect for the shoe boxes.
