C25K Week Four ... and I ran a mile!

C25K Week Four started today! It is going to be a challenge…I love it!

Last week I got bored with the intervals, so I don’t think I technically followed the routine any of the days. And I am glad for that. I found out I can run a 10 minute mile! Woohoo! This is such an accomplishment for me, since I am a natural sprinter. I also did my five days of 75 crunches and two days of strength training.

This week the intervals are:
5 min walk
3 min run
90 sec walk
5 min run
2 min walk
3 min run
90 sec walk
5 min run

I had a hard time with the run today! I didn’t get to the gym first thing in the morning like I am used to, so I ended up running around lunch time. Running while hungry is so distracting! My phone also fell off the treadmill, and later I accidently hit the emergency stop button. Ha! So my workout wasn’t very fluid, but I still completed it and that’s what matters. J

This week I’m going to continue with 75 crunches a day and do three days of strength training. I really need to strengthen the muscles in my legs to help support my knees...

I'm finding that all of these workouts are such a bonus to my schedule! I have fun while I am exercising and I feel great after. It’s a feeling that lasts too…increased energy and positive self-image. What about you? Do you have a good relationship with your workout routine? I’d love to hear about it!

I know what an accomplishment that mile was for you! Great job! And I agree about the exercise. Since I've started walking regularly I feel so much better. Thanks for the inspiration to get moving!
